Laser Sensors LRF-Series

Precise measurement under toughest environmental conditions is a complex task, that can be easily fulfilled with laser distance sensors of the LRF series. The LRF laser distance sensors have been succesfully proven in various industral fields for more than 10 years. Constant improvement of the electrical and opctical system has made the sensors more accurate, flexible and reliable.

LogoTek supplies reliable laser seonsors for distance measurement, particular in industrial applications.

Available are sensors for distances from some meters up to 3 km and accuracies between 3 mm and 20 mm.  The devices are extremely robust and successfully proved in industrial applications over many years. Easy operation and a wide variety of interfaces and housings ensure, that the LRF series are applicable wherever you need them to detect distance of speed with high accuracy.

Various application fields

Detection of the Crane Position

Laser sensors are widely used for position detection of cranes. This function is necessary for automatic control of the crane, as well as for material tracking applications. The LRF laser distance sensors can deliver reliable performance over along measuring distance of up to 3 km.

Collision Warning

The digital outputs of the laser devices can be directly connected to the crane control PLC, in order to realize a collision warning and emergency stop function. Collision warning can be realized with or without reflectors at the opposite vehicle. Redundant configurations are an option, in order to increase the reliability.

Material Detection

Laser Distance sensors can be used as a replacement of light barriers and reflective sensors. The laser distance meter can measure on rough and hot surfaces with low reflectivity. This ensures reliable material dtection in applications where light barriers may fail.

Dimensional Measurement of Metal Parts

The dimension of metal parts like slabs and coils need to be checked to ensure a continuous high quality of the manufacturing process. LRF laser distance sensors can help to fulfill this task. Even hot material with temperatures of up to +1200 °C can be reliably measured in all dimensions. LogoTek´s laser processing software is taking care for pre-processing and logging of position values.

Filling Level Detection

The filling level of gas tanks, liquid storages and dry bulk goods (as grain) can be measured with laser distance sensors. Depending on the application, the laser distance meters can be delivered in explosion proved versions and in protection housing that allow measurement in dusty areas.

Dust Protection

In order to use the laser distance sensors in industrial environments, dust protection housings are available for all LogoTek laser devices. The LRF250/251 can be delivered with an extended dust protection tube to make it more insensitive to dusty environments ans splashing materials.

Cooling

Laser applications in the heavy industry require reliable cooling of the measuring equipment to ensure operations uo to 100 °C. LogoTek offers different kinds of protection housings with Peltier colling elements, fan cooling, vortex collers (on request) or water cooling. Protection against radiation heat of hot material (like steel slabs) should be also considered and can be achieved through installation of metal heat shields.

Heating

The LRF250/251 can be delivered with an integrated heating to allow operating temperatures of down to -40°C. The cooling unit needs a power supply of 24V / 15W.

Filters

Exchangeable window glasses and filters can be used to make the laser sensors more insensitive to reflection or hot materials. The exchangeable window glasses protect the laser against damage by hot material and can be exchanged in minutes if they are damaged or scratched.

Laser supports

Various mounting plates and adjustable supports are available for all types of laser devices. Depending on the application, LogoTek offers simple supports for 2-dimensional adjustment or complex heavy duty verisons with 3-dimensional adjustment capability.

Air Purge

In very dusty environments a dst protection tube with air connection can be used to keep dust away from the optical system. The air purge system can be supplied together with air filters. An air filter with 5 µm particle size is recommended. In combination with a vortex cooler, the air system can be used for both cooling and cleaning of the optical system.
